Roy Black

Roy Lynn Black, 81, of Safford, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford. He was born on August 10, 1936, in Mesa, AZ, to Roy Edward Black and Irene Lebaron Black. Roy married Lois Black in 1960. Lois passed away in February 1996. Roy was an educator and taught many of the kids in the Gila Valley. Roy also enjoyed and had a love for Farming, gardening and accordion music. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Esther Mitzvotai of Utah, and Julie Ann Audrus of Utah; and a son David L. Black of Safford. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Safford LDS 20th Street Church. Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. with Bishop Craig O'Donnal officiating. Interment will be in the Emery Cemetery.
