Ruben Escobedo

Ruben Lopez Escobedo, 73, of Safford, entered into rest on Saturday, December 18, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 8, 1937 in Solomon to Sesciro Luna Escobedo and Nickolasa Luna Lopez. Ruben was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He love to built, and even built his own home and many rock fences. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and he took them anywhere they would like to go. He is survived by his wife, Anita of Safford; daughters, Malinda Smallwood of Tucson, Sally E. Gonzales of Tucson, Connie(Jesse)Salazar of Phoenix, and Melissa (Faustino) Rios of Safford; son, Ruben (Norma) Escobedo, Jr. of Safford; sister, Irene Juarez; brothers, Bobby Escobedo, Marvin Escobedo, and Daniel Escobedo; 24 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 and Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Friends may call prior to services at Caldwell Funeral Chapel from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
