Ruby Joyce Birch Joyce On January 22, 2010 after many years of enduring pain and suffering with different health issues our beloved Joyce returned to her Heavenly home. Joyce was born to George E and Ruby Morrow Bush on Valentines Day 1933. Mom graduated from Murray High School where she was proud to be a Murray High Smelterite. She married our dad, Cecil R Birch, for all eternity on October 3 ,1955. He passed away January 1, 1998. She missed him and looked forward to seeing him, her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, friends and others who had gone on before her. Mom and dad owned and operated Mountain States Refrigeration Service for over 25 years. She worked as office manger and bookkeeper. Her records were kept with complete accuracy. Mom also served in the PTA as president and other positions to help better the education and opportunities of children. She also served in the scouting program on ward, stake and district levels. Mom was always supportive of her children and attended their many activities even when she could no longer drive due to poor health. She found a way to be at and support her children in their various interests. She was president and board member of the Alexander Graham Bell Association, deaf advocacy committee member and several other organizations to better the deaf community. The rights and opportunities for the hearing impaired were of great importance to her. Joyce was an active member of the LDS church and served in many stake and ward auxiliaries. She was a faithful visiting teacher and loved those she served. You could always find a pen and paper in her hands as writing poetry, tributes, stories and letters were her favorite pastime. Joyce won contests for some of her writings, but more importantly many lives have been changed for the better due to the beautiful letters of encouragement, faith, hope and love she would write. She knew just what to say and how to say it. Pen pals from all over the world along with close friends and family will deeply miss her notes, cards and letters. Many have helped Joyce over the past few years as her health declined. As a family, we thank each and everyone of you. It has meant so much to her. She will be greatly missed by many including her children: Wayne and Tiffanie Birch, Terry and Holli Birch, Wendy and Virl Rae; her 8 grandchildren who will miss their grandmas tight hugs: Ashley, Shaylynne, Michelle, Jordan, Travis, Rylie, Coleman and Robert Birch. She is also survived by siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and pen pals who will feel a great void at her loss. Services to honor the life of Joyce will be on Thursday January 28, 2010, 11:00 a.m in the Granger East Stake Center 3274 Hillsdale Drive (2760West). A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 27, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and 10:00-10:45 prior to the service at the church. Mom will then be laid to rest by her sweetheart at the Valley View Memorial Park. Mom taught us to have great faith, endurance, perseverance and to always follow Heavenly Fathers Plan. Her example and teachings will remain with us. We will love and miss her deeply until that glorious day when we are reunited as a family with her and dad.
