Rudolph Dalpra

Rudolph "Rudy" John Dalpra, who had been a resident of Safford since 1975, passed away on July 29, 2024 at the age of 90. 

Rudy was born in Crystal Falls, Michigan on March 1, 1934 to Rudolph G. Dalpra & Anna W. Martinson Dalpra.  He attended the Crystal Falls schools graduating from high school with the class of 1952.  He married Doreen Joy Mackie in 1955 and they made their home in Safford in 1975.  The couple was blessed with a son, Brian who grew up in Safford and graduated from Safford High School.  Doreen passed away in 2021.

Rudy served two tenures as the editor for the Eastern Arizona Courier and was also Executive Director of the Safford-Graham County Chamber of Commerce for two years and later established The Source, a print shop and office supply store.

He served for four years in the U.S. Air Force Security Service and was a member of the American Legion for over 60 years.

Rudy's remains will be interred in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls, Michigan.
