Rulen M. Daley passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Gilbert, Arizona. He was born to Marcus and Bina Daley on May 28, 1931 in Thatcher, Arizona. Rulen attended school in Thatcher. He married JoNell Cluff on October 18, 1949 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. Together they had six children. JoNell passed away on April 11, 1989. Rulen married Charlene Gietz Roberts on April 18, 1997. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Arizona LDS Temple. Rulen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including High Councilor and Bishop. However, his favorite and most memorable calling was as Scoutmaster of Gilbert Arizona Troop 89. He spent years working with the young men, taking them on campouts and scaring the daylights out of them. He is survived by his wife, Charlene, and his six children: Brandt (Diane) Daley, Salt Lake City; Kathy (Bob) Weaver, North Ogden, Utah; Michael (Julia) Daley, Mesa; Cris Ann Daley, Mesa; Patrick (Jolinda) Daley, Colorado Springs; and Pamela (Sheldon) Webb, Mesa. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his three brothers; David Kent, John and Phil. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 9th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel, 112 E. Main Street, Safford, Arizona with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Thatcher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Leukemia Society.
