Ruth Evelyn Saxey 1922 ~ 2008 Ruth Evelyn Saxey, 85, born May 22, 1922 in Falls River, Massachusetts to Norman and Martha Williams Pewsey, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her husband and family members, January 12, 2007. She married John Lowell Saxey of Glendale, California February 16, 1946 in Yuma, Arizona and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple November 25, 1961. They spent the next sixty years together. Ruth had a natural talent in music, being accomplished on the organ and piano. She has been a ward organist in about 30 wards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has been a temple worker in the Los Angeles Temple, in California, and an organist in the Ogden and Jordan River temples in Utah. She was the pianist for the Night of Miracles at the Los Angeles Temple Visitors Center. The spirit that accompanied her music brought joy and happiness to hundreds of people. With her great spirit and friendly attitude, she was a great missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in each of the many places she moved as her husband supervised the construction of church buildings. She is survived by her husband, John; her children: Steve (Ann) Saxey, West Valley City; Mark (Paula) Saxey, Chandler, AZ; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents; 2 brothers; 1 sister; 4 of her children: Daralee, Jack, Christopher and Philip. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 18, 2008, 12:00 noon at the Granger 14th Ward, 2041 West 3100 South where friends and family are invited to attend a viewing, 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to services.
