Biography Sam Sollers, 77, of Klondyke, AZ, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at his sons home in Central. He was born on August 10, 1935 in Prescott to Wyla and Stella Sollers. Sam grew up in Prescott and graduated from Prescott High School in 1954. He married his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Goetzenberger in 1957 in Prescott. Sam learned construction and was a master of it, he was a Jack of all trades and master of many. They moved to Tempe in 1965 and then to Chandler in 1970. He was a member of the Chandler Sheriffs Posse and served as the State President for many years. Sam worked construction all his life and built many of the bridges throughout the state of Arizona. He built many homes in Chandler and many homes in Graham County. Sam had a love for many of the young men he worked with, was loved and respected by them; many looked up to him and today would still call him Grandpa Sam. He moved to Klondyke in 1999 to build a dream home for his wife Carol. Sam tried to retire many times but could not; he loved his trade so much and continued working the remainder of his life. He spent many enjoyable days at the family ranch, checking pipes and cattle every day. Sam always had a smile on his face and a positive, happy outlook on life. He is survived by his wife Carol, of Klondyke; daughters, Sandy Weatherly of Chandler, and Cutter Sollers of Safford; son Bill (Lori) Sollers of Klondyke; grandchildren, Jaime, Jake, Heather, Shelby, Kyler, Zach, Hallie, E.J., Sammy, and Wyle; and great grandchildren, James, Wyatt, Skye, Dylan, and JW. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Thatcher, with Pastor Jack Willey officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to services at the church.
