Sara Herrera

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sara (Lujan) Herrera September 12th, 2023, at the age of 86 surrounded by her loved ones. Sara was born in Sonora, Arizona December 19th, 1936, to Urbano Romero and Sara Sanchez Romero. She then grew up in old Morenci with her siblings (Danny, Gabriel, Robert, Herlindo, and Aurora). Later she met and married Alfred Lujan Jr in 1957. Who she had 3 children with (Patricia, Christine, and Mary "Pinky") Her husband passed at the age of 49 and she then relocated to Duncan where she was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the support of her family, she survived, and she later met Frank. They fell in love and eventually married August 20th, 2021. Sara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Left to mourn her is loving husband, Frank Herrera; daughter Patricia Cano; sister Aurora Tarin, as well as all of her grandchildren nieces and nephews. Funeral will take place in Duncan Thursday September 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the viewing at 9 and mass at 10:30 following with a lunch in the church.
