Sarah Orozco Montoya Aguirre, 83, peacefully passed away May 17, 2017, at home in Willcox, Arizona in the loving care of her family. She was born Nov. 3, 1933 in Corpus, Texas to Isabel & Sarah Gomez.
She lived in Cochise County most of her life, working as a field hand in Safford and in the Willcox orchards. She was an avid gardener and especially enjoyed tending her roses and fruit trees. She was an accomplished seamstress and created beautiful embroideries for her family.
She is survived by her husband Joel Montoya of Lubbock, Texas and brother Aaron Gomez of Pima; children Dominga (Richard) Garcia of Hart, Texas, Emilio (Laurie) Aguirre of Tucson, Isabel (Froylan) Silva of Tucson, Ramero (Elizabeth) Aguirre of Eloy, Aaron Gomez of Phoenix, Mary (Javier) Valencia of Willcox and Martin (Francis) Aguirre of Safford. Sarah had 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Isabel Gomez of Pima and Sarah Corpus of Texas, husband Guadalupe Aguirre of Pima, brothers John and Alfredo Gomez, son Lupe Aguirre, and grandson Emilio Aguirre.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 and again on Saturday morning, May 20th, at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 10:00 a.m., all held at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Burial and graveside service will be in the Pima Cemetery.
