Del Scott Adams, 62, of Safford, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 in Tucson. He was born on August 27, 1949 in Safford, to Cloyd Dale Adams and Julia Carpenter. Scott graduated from E.A.C. with an Associates Degree. He started working as a Automotive Technician at Cecil's Transmission Shop in 1979 and in 1988 he purchased the shop and operated it until about five months ago when his illness no longer would allow him to do it. He loved to fish and hunt with his family. Scott was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his brother, Lonny Adams of Central; three sisters, Kay Stacey of Central, Jan (Brent) Martin of Nogales, AZ, and Loree Archibald of Tucson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Old Central LDS Church, with Bishop Steve Hooper officiating. Friends may call on Friday, November 4, from 6-8 pm at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Gila Valley Memorial Gardens.
