Shane Mullen

Larro Shane Mullen, 45, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012, doing what he loved the most which was fishing. Larro, known as Shane to his family and friends, was born on November 21, 1966 in Safford, to Clinton & Dolly Mullen. Shane was the fifth of six children. He grew up in Safford and the surrounding area where he learned hunting, fishing, and camping from his dad and brothers. Shane attended Safford High School, after graduation in May of 1984, he joined the U.S. Navy in December where he trained as an Electronic Maintenance Technician. Shane was stationed in San Diego, CA, where he met and later married Laura Ortega on October 7, 1989. Shane made his living in El Cajon for many years until he returned to Safford in May of 1996. He continued working as an Electronic Maintenance Technician for companies in the Safford and Globe areas. Shane finally settled in Tucson working for Action Communications. Shane was blessed with three children, Daniel, Andra Lynn, and Shane Larro. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, going to the sand dunes, and spending time at the hot wells. He also loved being with family when they gathered for dinners and outings. He is survived by two sons, Daniel(Candice) and Shane, and a daughter, Andra Lynn; grandchildren, Kayden and Kyla; his mother, Dolly (Jesse) Holdman, a sister, Laurie Richardson; brothers, Tharrin Mullen, Rory (Rochelle) Mullen, Loren (Lisa) Mullen, and Clinton (Kathy) Mullen, step-sister Sherry Winn; close companion, Kristy Muniz; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Shane is preceded in death by his father Clinton Ray Mullen and Step Father, Kay Lawrence, nephew, Brawley, and grandparents. A Celebration of Shanes Life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel, 112 East Main Street, Safford. Friends may call one hour prior to celebration at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
