Sharon R. Goseyun, a beacon of compassion and dedication, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on June 10, 1956, in San Carlos, Arizona, Sharon's journey through life was marked by her boundless willingness to help others and her unwavering spirit of generosity.
Sharon's career was one devoted to service. She became a dispatcher for law enforcement and worked diligently in emergency medical services, consistently putting the needs of others before her own. Her commitment to helping her community extended to her work with the Adult Center in Bylas, where she not only touched lives but built lasting connections with those around her.
Sharon embraced education wholeheartedly. She received her GED in August of 1979 and pursued further studies at the Inter Mountain School in Utah, the Bureau of Indian Affairs for Technical Assistance and Training, as well as the Branch of Law Enforcement Training Services. This dedication to learning exemplified her belief in the importance of knowledge as a tool for both personal and communal advancement.
Her vibrant personality shone through all aspects of her life. Known for her laughter and joy, she loved playing chair volleyball at the Older Adult Center in Bylas and had a particular fondness for spending time with her nephews, sharing jokes and moments filled with warmth. Family was at the core of Sharon's being. She was deeply proud of the birth of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, considering these milestones among her proudest accomplishments.
Sharon leaves behind a loving family who will remember her kindness and strength: her daughter, Sharilyn Anderson; her sister, Sandra Goseyun; brothers Gary (Geneva) Goseyun, Sr., Ronson (Velda) Goseyun, and in-laws Myron Moses, Ferris Elgo and Darlene Goseyun; as well as her cherished two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her home which she shared with her four beloved cats will forever remind them of her nurturing spirit.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Gray & Daisy Goseyun, and her step-father Cleo Dan Goseyun; her sisters, Etheleen Moses and, Genevieve Elgo; and brothers, Michael Goseyun, Sr., Edwin D. Goseyun, Marty D. Goseyun, and Norbert Goseyun, who along with her will be fondly remembered.
In her final chapter, Sharon faced health challenges bravely, falling ill with pneumonia in November of 2024. Despite her struggle, she remained an inspiration, demonstrating a remarkable strength until her passing, always blessed with the love of those she held dear.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Sharon R. Goseyun, we reflect on the physical absence she leaves behind yet cherish the enduring legacy of love, laughter, and profound impact she made on countless lives. She will be missed, but her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
A wake will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Goseyun residence followed by the funeral service on Saturday, March 22nd at the Lighthouse Assembly of God with the interment in the Black Point Cemetery following services.
