Shirley V. Iverson 1930 ~ 2009 Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Shirley Virginia Wilcox Iverson, 79, passed away peacefully November 22, 2009. Born April 22, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Walter Corless and Nellie Virginia Snyder Wilcox. She was married and sealed to Amasa D. Iverson August 27, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Shirley was an active member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed bird-watching, crocheting and reading. She loved people and socializing and meeting and talking with people. She had many stories to tell. Survived by her son, Demar (Dena) Iverson; daughter, Sheryl (Raul Ray) Romero; grandchildren: Tiffany (Brad) Crocker, Nathan, Nick, Weston, Braydon, Chandler, Wade, Alexis and Jake; great-grandchildren: Brynn and Bailey; brother, Rulon (Loretta) Wilcox; sister, Colleen (Jerry) Gibson; and many other extended family and friends. Preceded in death by parents; and her loving husband, Amasa. The family would like to give a special thanks to Utah Hospice Specialists and Sandy Regional Care Center for the loving care they provided Mom. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the River Oaks 3rd Ward, 8825 South 1095 West. Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Salem City Cemetery.
