Shirley W. Parker Shirl Our beloved husband, dad, brother, grandfather and great-grandpa, Shirley William Parker, 85, passed away January 25, 2008 at IMC Hospital following a procedure he hoped would restore some of his well being. Born March 15, 1922 in Bennion, Utah to Franklin Shanks and Josephine Maukley Parker. Married Naomi King June 12, 1942; she preceded him in death January 3, 1999. Married Jelene Gates November 30, 2002. No one could have had a better father. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren thought the world of him and he them. His favorite past time was his garden and playing cards. Survived by his wife, Jill; children: Terry S. Parker, West Jordan; Elma P. (Steven) Larsen, Draper; Shirlene P. (Glenn) Cook, Murray; stepchildren: Jackie Lynn (Stu) Carpenter, CO; Rick Barnum, FL; Kevin (Ninfa) Barnum, CO and Todd Barnum, CO; 5 granddaughters; 4 grandsons; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Zelpha Simmons. Also preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers; 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
