Silden Gandy

Sildem J. Gandy Jr. Drinkin Coffee and Still Smokin Sildem Joye Gandy II, age 80, passed away July 8, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born September 6, 1927 in Society Hills, South Carolina, son of Sildem Joye and Maude Rebecca Crolley Gandy. Married Clara Fivas and they had five children; later divorced. Married Rella Sweat Braithwaite who brought four children to the union. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Survived by wife, Rella; children: Sildem Gandy III, Las Vegas, NV; Dianne Matthews, West Jordan; Jamie Gandy, Sandy; David (Kris), SC; Bridget Gandy, Sandy; stepchildren: Rick (Linda) Braithwaite, West Valley City; Terry (Riker) Atkinson, MT; Bud Braithwaite Jr., Duchesne; Dan (Denise) Braithwaite, West Valley City; 37 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel, 17111 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the Veterans Park Chapel one hour prior to services. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
