Spurrell Jordan

October 16, 1971 — January 16, 2025

Spurrell Hudson Jordan was born on October 16, 1971 in San Carlos, Arizona to Marlina Goseyun Jordan & Delbert Jordan, Sr.  His education was completed through the Ft. Thomas Unified School District, K-12, and successfully obtained his high school diploma.  Throughout his education, he participated in the special Olympics in the 4x100 relay and the 4x100 m discus. His parents & siblings traveled with him to every sporting event as they got to witness Spurrell capture gold medals.

From his childhood  into adulthood he participated in ceremony and sung with the singers as his family danced in attendance.  Spurrell was a first-language Apache speaker which played a key role in his dedication to his culture.  In his later years, he joined the Medicine Men Society and attended sweats, ceremony, and social gatherings; he was always at the grounds as a spectator, supporter, and singer.

Spurrell was a simple man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and always took in the offer to go on daily trips to town or the valley to casinos.  The furthest he traveled was to Oklahoma twice and got to visit Geronimo's gravesite at the Fort Sill Military Base.  He was a big sports fan and was also excited to capture photos with the top athletes at the University of Oklahoma Heisman Park featuring: Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Sam Bradford to name a few.  He was also a long time fan of U of A Wildcats and was overjoyed to attend the "Duel in the Desert" college rivalry between U of A and ASU.  He was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and always wore their apparel.

In his free time, Spurrell enjoyed socializing with his friends and people of the community at the Bylas OAC.  He loved playing chair volleyball and often came home upset if he lost.  He also enjoyed playing Bingo. Spurrell was an avid contributor in the Bylas community; he was involved with community engagement and assisted many at the recreational parks and facilities. He was a cheerful person who was admired by many as he enjoyed hanging out at the plaza and the market with his friends.  He was a family man who loved to be with his family.  He was  known as "Papa Spurrell" and loved by all of his nieces, nephews, and grandkids.  Spurrell never caused any harm to anyone.  He was peaceful and happy soul. He always had a smile on his face.  You could always catch him at the plaza, OAC, market or the local sporting events.

He entered eternal rest peacefully on January 17, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona.
