Steven Ray Hayden Steve, 60, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Morenci, AZ, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 in Phoenix. He was born on February 23, 1954 in Morenci to Owen and Clara Hayden. He graduated from Morenci High School. He married Cindy Gomez on January 17, 1984 in Clifton, AZ. Steve was a machinist by trade, a skilled carpenter, and Jack of All Trades. He worked for the Phelps Dodge Mining Company until 1983, then moved to Scottsdale and went to work as a machinist for the Salt River Project, where he retired. He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, uncle, and friend. Who will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He will be remembered by all the memories he has left at all his homes, Scottsdale, Alpine, and his Ranch, El Ranchito in York. He is survived by his wife Cindy Hayden and his beloved dog Blanca; daughter, Melody Rogers and husband Greg; granddaughter, Ashley; great grandson Colven; his brother, Daryl Hayden; and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Clara Hayden; and stepfather, Barney Wood. Viewing and Rosary will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
