Susan R. Garcia, 78, of Safford, Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 3, 1942, to Antonio and Carmen Rodriguez in Clifton, Arizona.
At an early age, she learned the value of hard work and family as she worked alongside her father on the family farm. Throughout her life, she showed compassion, empathy, and a strong, stubborn streak that helped her raise four children. Her love of family extended to her growing collection of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. Susan loved to go hiking with her husband in search of arrowheads and gemstones. A hobby she passed on to her children. Susan also had a passion for bingo that bordered on obsession. But this was nothing compared to her love of arts and crafts. She maintained a perpetual spot in the county fair, often bringing home blue ribbons for her paintings. While life brought many challenges, she showed an amazing resiliency that was an inspiration to all that knew her.
She is survived by her brother and two sisters; her husband, Ernest; her four children: Ernie, Richard, Adrian, and Kristina; her 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
"Don't you remember the day
That you went away and left me?
I was so lonely,
Prayed for you only,
My love."
