Terry Albert Barker 1920 ~ 2008 Terry Albert Barker passed away on May 23, 2008 in Kearns, Utah. He was born November 22, 1920 in Pocatello, Idaho, to Henry Albert and Agnes Hunter Barker. He married Dorothy Marie Langtimm on May 24, 1947 in Davenport, Iowa, solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 24, 1956. Dorothy passed away December 9, 1993. Terry later married Ruby Standing on July 9, 1996. He attended school in Pocatello, Idaho and graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY in 1949. He served 3 years in the Navy in World War II as Chief Motor Machinist Mate. Terry was an active member of the LDS Church serving as Bishops Counselor, Stake Sunday School Superintendent, Bishop, High Councilor, Stake Presidency Counselor, Stake President, and Stake Patriarch. He started his printing career at age 14 in Pocatello and worked in various printing companies in Idaho, NY, Iowa and Utah. At Utah Technical College, he organized the printing department, where he also taught. He also centralized the in-plant printing departments of the LDS Church where he was employed for 15 years. He was owner, manager of Imperial Printing, Inc., in Salt Lake City since 1957. Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Ruby; sons, Randy (Diane) Barker, Rick (Sherrie) Barker; daughter, Penny (Michael) Thompson; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Robert, Roy, Earl Willard; sister, Johanna Burdett. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 28, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns Stake Center, 4260 West 5215 South. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
