Thelma Johnson Gibson 1915 ~ 2008 Our sweet mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Thelma Johnson Gibson, age 93, peacefully left this mortal existence early the morning of December 21, 2008. Thelma was born June 27, 1915, in Cleveland, Utah to Daniel A. and Carrie Johnson. She married Arthur E. Gibson on July 23, 1940 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Provo Temple. She was an energetic, loving person who was always serving her family, neighbors and her church. She served in many positions, including 13 years as a temple worker in the Provo Temple. She loved family gatherings, quilting, crocheting, working in her yard and garden and getting hugs from her great-grandchildren. Thelma is survived by children, Janice (Larry); Grant (Donna); Dean; 12 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lenore & Dora; brother, Clayton. Preceded in death by husband, Art; son, Keith; parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; 3 grandsons. She was a great example and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. The family wishes to send their appreciation to the staff of Legacy of Taylorsville for their love and care. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 15th Ward, 1480 West Atherton Drive (4310 South). Viewing at Friday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
