Theone Rees

Theone Y. Rees 1926 ~ 2008 Theone Yearsley Rees, age 81, passed away April 15, 2008 of congestive heart failure. Theone was born July 24, 1926 in Malad, Idaho, daughter of N. Melvin and Josephine Jones Yearsley. She married her eternal companion, Philip E. Rees July 18, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple and together had five children, Sonja, Dean, Tim, Tom and Mark. She worked for Fassio Egg Farm and several years for Granite School District in food services. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in positions in the stake and ward Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society organizations, with one of her favorite callings being in the music department. She enjoyed spending time with her family, family dinners, playing games, bowling leagues and crocheting and knitting special items for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Phil, West Valley City; children: Sonja (Lenny) Rees, Layton; Tim (Bonnie) Rees, East Aurora, New York; Mark, West Valley City; daughter-in-law, Grayce Rees, Taylorsville; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Joyce Yearsley, Orem; sisters: Rula (Don) Gowers, Nephi; Karen Kent, Anchorage, Alaska. She is preceded in death by sons: Dean and Tom; granddaughters: Rebecca Weaver and Julie Rees; sisters: Norma, Elmo, Twila, Ina; brother, Dale. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the Hunter 18th Ward, 3737 South 5600 West. A viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
