Thomas J. Kemp Beloved Sweetheart, Dad, and Grandpa Thomas James Kemp, 84, passed away May 19, 2008 just four weeks before his 84th birthday, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born June 16, 1924 in Portage, Utah, son of Edgar and Sarah Jane Tims Kemp. Married his first and only love, Hedwig Karolina Bucher, September 6, 1947 in Frankfurt, Germany. Toms greatest joy was building his many wooden masterpieces which he designed himself and gave as gifts to family members and friends. He loved to tinker in his garage with anything that needed to be fixed or that went v-room! He will be sorely missed but sweetly remembered by family, friends, VA medical attendants, and the many children who have felt such delight riding in the wagons he built for them. Survived by wife, Hedwig; sons: Thomas Kemp, Karl (Carolyn) Kemp, Dale Kemp; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their thanks to the medical staff of the VA Medical Center who cared for Tom and who he always considered his friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11;00 a.m. at the Hunter 9th Ward, 6400 West 3500 South. A viewing will be held Monday, 6-7:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Tuesday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
