Tom Keskey

June 6, 1955 — April 16, 2006

Tom R. Keskey Uncle Buck Gone 10-42" The Lord needed a good cop so he sent for Tom Keskey on Sunday, April 16, 2006. He now patrols the after life showing strength for the weak, compassion for the downtrodden, and humor for the sad, just as he did in this life. Tom hated doom and gloom. Do not weep for him. We ask that you celebrate his life and humorous memories instead. Joy that is shared, is joy that is amplified. Share our joy. Rejoice in the memory that he touches so many lives with his happiness and zeal for life. On earth, he was a South Salt Lake Police Officer and guardian angel to the community for 20 years. Tom personifies the beat cop, always on patrol. The ultimate Officer Friendly. The policemans police officer, he is loved by all he protected. Courageous when faced with violence. Gentle when he stilled cries for help. He commands respect, even from those he arrested. In one of countless gestures of compassion, he gave his change to a suspect who assaulted him so he would have money in jail over the weekend. His kindness knows no bounds. The greatest tribute to Toms life is his many friends. At his retirement, hundreds of community leaders, business owners, and street cops honored him. He honors us by the way he lived. At the time of his death, he mentored young boys in hockey leagues. Best remembered for his sense of humor, Tom has the rare gift to make people laugh. He was happiest when he made others smile with his vast repertoire of impersonations. His stories and wit still inspire laughter decades later. Tom could impersonate anyonejudges, attorneys, police officers, and defendants. He is famous for his live reenactments of major trials. He was occasionally heard signing on the radio with his latest impression of a fellow police officer. Dispatch was frequently confused about how many officers were actually riding in Toms police car. Tom was blessed with loving parents Ronald and Helen Keskey on June 6, 1955 in Houghton, Michigan. He is now reunited with his mother. He leaves behind his father, sister Julie (Frank) Humphreys, nephews Kristopher (Denise) Humphreys, Ronald (Tammy) Humphreys, Aunts and cousins, as well as countless friends. We invite you to share his memories on Saturday, April 22nd at the Granite Park Junior High Auditorium, 3031 So. 200 East at 10:00 am. His final resting place is Valley View Cemetary. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made in Toms name to establish a Public Servant Support Fund. Please make donations at any Chase Bank to the SSL FOB Lodge 15. Services under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. If there is a comedy club in heaven, Toms opening night is something to behold. Sunday night, the angels were laughing, so we know he made it.
