Tony Serna

Tony Bailon Serna, formerly of the Gila Valley, passed away in Tucson, Arizona on December 7, 2021, at the age of 70. Tony was born on March 9, 1951, to Amelia B. Serna & Antonio H. Serna. He was the oldest of four; followed by his younger brother Larry and two sisters; Berta and Tina. Tony attended Morenci High School but graduated from Clifton High School in 1969, and enlisted in the U.S. Army that same year. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years retiring as a First Sergeant in 1990. Tony had three sons, Tony, Paul Damian, and Richard; four grandchildren, Paige, Kayla, Ricky, and Irene; and one great-grandson Noah. Tony enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and going to the casino with his family. He spent a lot of time with his family during his retirement years. He was very happy and could always be counted on for a quick-witted joke. He was a great brother and uncle. He was well-loved by his nieces and nephews. We will all miss his sense of humor and his laugh. His favorite phrase, "Bada Bing Bada Boom", will be one we will always joke about at all our family get-togethers. He will live on in our hearts and memories. Tony was met by his loved ones who preceded him in death, his parents Amelia & Antonio, his brother Larry B. Serna, and his son Paul Damian Serna. Rosary will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton, with the Mass of a Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with full military honors by Post 28 Honor Guard.
