Treva Maxine Wimberley, a beloved matriarch and devoted family member, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024, in Pima, Arizona, at the age of 92. Born on November 13, 1931, in Crawford, Arkansas Treva embraced life with grace and warmth, marking her journey with cherished moments and lasting connections.
Treva attended school in Bakersfield, California, until the 10th grade, but it was her true education that came from her experiences and the love she fostered in her family. She married Lyman Wimberley on October 2, 1948, in California, forging a partnership rooted in love and dedication. Treva was a quiet, soft-spoken person whose greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending her time fishing, gardening, reading, and traveling.
Her nurturing spirit lives on through her loving family. Treva is survived by her son Raymond and his wife Sylvia, her daughter Colette and her husband Steven, and her son Burnum and his wife Shari. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Karissa, Randy, Justin, Michael, Rhianna, and Garrett along with her three great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. For 22 years, her beloved pet Tina Fae was her constant companion, sharing countless days of love and laughter.
Treva was preceded in death by her parents, John and Thelma Payton, as well as her siblings Clarence, Melba, Shila, Harrel, Mae Dell, and Danny.
