Troy D. Yates 1976 ~ 2008 Troy David Yates, 31, our loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend was called back to his Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Troy was born August 25, 1976, in Murray, Utah to the loving parents Carol and David Yates. Troy attended and graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1994. Troy married Mindy Tanner; later divorced. Troy then met the love of his life, Rebecca Corley, and they were married February 17, 2007. Troy loved bowling, four wheeling, monster truck shows, snowmobiling, and playing video games with his favorite nephew Nick. He enjoyed spending time with his family and would do anything for anyone to make them smile. Troy truly had a heart of gold. He was very out going and loved meeting and socializing with everyone. Troy enjoyed spending time with Rebecca fishing at the local neighborhood pond often spending the entire day. Troy was a loving and devoted father to his children and enjoyed riding bikes, roller blading, and just spending quality time with them. Every Monday and Friday night was devoted to Rebecca as a date night where they enjoyed watching wrestling together. At the end of every phone call that he would make, Troy made a point to end the call with I love you. Troy, We love you too. Troy is survived by his wife, Rebecca; his unborn child; daughter, Lacey, son Zachary; parents, Carol and David; sister, Cindy(Rick) Tanner; nephew, Nick; niece, Ashley; grandparents, Bob and Georgia Yates; mother and father in-law, Ruth and Paul Corley; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceded in death by daughter, Holly; grandparents, Bill and Marian Benson; uncle, Ray Smullin; great-grandparents, David L. and Rhea Yates. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers donations to the family to help with funeral expenses would be appreciated.
