Valene Losee Haaga Loving Mother Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Valene Haaga, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 1, 2008. Valene will be remembered for her compassionate and loving ways. Her devotion to her family was felt by us all, a life of service and giving. We all love her and will miss her words of encouragement, hugs and love. Born on November 22, 1925 to David Lyman and Maude Olive Hoover Losee in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married the love of her life, Robert Matthew Haaga, while they served in the LDS Church together. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 9, 1948. Valene was the oldest of 4 children and graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City. She lovingly raised 5 children and 2 grandchildren, who she regarded as her own children. She served in every way she could. She was always there with a listening ear and open arms for all. Valene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in a variety of callings. She loved to travel with family and friends. She loved sports, especially the Jazz. But her most treasured activities were with her family. She was the center of our lives, our friend, our mom, our grandma. Survived by her children: Cathy Keating, Robert Scott Haaga, Douglas Mark Haaga, Jeffrey David Haaga and Bruce Edward Haaga; her 2 grandchildren that she raised as her children, Christopher Marsh and Joanna Boyd; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Joann (Short) Smith.
