Vergie Stevens

V. Lynne Stevens 1939 ~ 2010 Vergie Lynne McLachlan Stevens, age 71, passed away March 28, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born October 10, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Steven Nephi and Vergie Malissa Wright McLachlan. She attended West High School. Married Donald Lewis Stevens in Salt Lake City, Utah October 10, 1957; solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple February, 1972 . She was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions in the ward and stake Young Womens organization. She loved to read and cheered for the Utah Jazz. She loved her family, life, neighbors and others. She also loved good music and the beauty of Utah scenery throughout the seasons. She devoted her life to family and care taking of her mother. Lynne is survived by her husband, Donald; children: Donald Jr. (Sharon), William Kirk (MaiLing), John Jay (Nancy), Latisha (Rodney); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother; Vergie M. Sullivan; brothers: Steve (Judy), Mike (Gail), Aunt Barbra (Art). Preceded in death by her father. Her passing will leave a great void in all our lives but we take comfort in knowing she is now in the loving arms of those who waited for her beyond the veil. She always had a friendly smile and a hug that would comfort and ease the wanting soul. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the Hunter Central Stake Center, 3909 S. 6000 W. Viewings will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
