Walter B. Diggs of Safford, passed away September 22, 2019 at the age of 83. He was born on July 5, 1936 in Texarkana, Louisiana to Ben Diggs, Sr. & Ethel Williams Diggs with siblings Ben Jr., Jim, Exsie and Ella.
Walter worked in the Cotton Gin as a cotton worker. He married Gertrude Diggs, his wife, the love of his life and the two spent many good years together.
He loved to hang out with family and watch westerns on T.V. He was very funny, loving and caring. His favorite saying was "I have a few good reasons for drinking and one just entered my head...if a man can't drink when he's living, how the hell can he drink when he's dead?"
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Gertrude, his parents Ethel Williams & Ben Diggs, Sr, his brothers Ben Diggs, Jr. and Jim Taylor and his sisters Exsie Bell Harris and Ella Daniels.
A Memorial Service planned for Tuesday, October 1, 2019 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
