Wanda Hyer Burton 1922 ~ 2009 Wanda Hyer Burton, age 87, passed away in Glenwood, Utah, while living at the Curtis Assisted Living facility on December 12, 2009. She was born in Logan, Utah, June 25, 1922, daughter of Ralph James Hyer and Arvilla Johnson. Her family moved to Star Valley, Wyoming in the fall of 1926. She graduated from Star Valley High School and attended Utah State University. She married her sweetheart, Claude Poulter Burton, on November 26, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In April of 1951, they moved to Salt Lake City and raised their family in the Cannon Stake. Her life was one of dedication to her family and church. She served faithfully in various positions in the church. She and her husband served in the San Jose California Mission from March 1983 to April 1984. She was also a member of the DUP. She had a great love of music, and enjoyed playing the piano. She loved reading, sewing, and camping with her family at Greys River. She enjoyed her family very much and there was always time for her children and grandchildren. Her giving heart and beautiful smile will be an everlasting legacy. She is survived by her six children, Ralph (Judy) of Island Park, Idaho, Pauline (Larry) Wilson of Manti, Utah, Annette (Dale) Harrison of Sandy, Utah, Jerald (Glenda) of Salt Lake City, Shannon (Niel) Parry of Woodland Hills, Utah, and Nancy (Errald) Curtis of Glenwood, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude, who died Nov 24, 1996, and by two brothers, Harold and Grant Hyer. She has 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cannon Stake Center, 934 West Fremont Avenue (1150 South). Friends may call at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Friday, December 18, from 6 - 8:00 p.m. and at the Cannon Stake Center from 9 - 9:45 a.m., prior to the funeral services.
