Wanda Schouten Geri Wanda Geraldine Kemp Schouten, of Taylorsville, Utah, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 as she lived, with incredible humor, grace and strength of will, with loved ones by her side. She was born February 23, 1923 in Crescent, Utah to Harvey and Javina (Bullock) Kemp the youngest of ten children who preceded her in death. She married her sweetheart, Henry Hank Schouten, November 17, 1952, who also preceded her in death August 30, 2001. Geri spent her life exploring beauty and her own creativity. Whether it was oil painting, creating porcelain dolls, quilting, crocheting or gardening, her hands were always busy in the pursuit of her next creation. She was also an avid sportswoman. The Utah Jazz never had such an ardent fan. She loved the great outdoors and could often be found sitting on the fishing bank with her loved ones close by waiting for that big fish to bite. Always quick witted, her sense of humor put everyone at ease and sustained her through her challenges. She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Shakespeare Davis (Ralph), of Auburn, Washington and Cora Schouten Bridge (Larry), of Murray, Utah; 8 grandchildren, Camille (Alan), Kurt (Jenny), Ryan, Brynnley, Brooke (Cory), Jaime (Travis), Joe (Ashley) and Rob (Amy); and 22 great grandchildren. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of the RICU at Intermountain Medical Center for the exceptional care given to Wanda.
