Wendell Thatcher

Wendell Scott Thatcher, 68, passed away in his parents home on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2015, with his mother and brother Eric at his side. He was born June 18, 1947, in Safford, Arizona to Max and Wanda Thatcher of San Jose, Arizona. He was a graduate of Safford High School and served in the United States Navy. Wendell was a great artist, an experienced rockhound, a master of lapidary and world class fire agate carver. His polished stones can be found around the world. Wendell is survived by his parents, Max and Wanda Thatcher; son, Jason (Mikel); grandchildren, Robin Curry and Maxwell Curry; siblings, Eric Thatcher (Marge), Maxine Welker (Robert), Pam Reynolds (Russ), Jolene Smith (Steve), Paula McBride (Phil), and Todd Thatcher and countless friends around the world. Funeral Services will be held this Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the 20th Street Chapel at 10:00 a.m.
