Wheeler Bond

November 16, 1978 — July 8, 2017

Wheeler, aka "Boy", was just 38 years old when the Lord took him home on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson. He was born on November 16, 1978 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, AZ to Wheeler Alexander Bond, Sr. and the late Sophie Moses. He has 5 older sisters; the late Pamela Bond Wright, Deloria Brown, Aurelia Bond Bullis, Natalie Bond Bear and Beverly Nelson and 1 younger brother, the late Beau James Bond. When he was born, our father, Wheeler Sr., was very excited and happy that he finally had a son to spoil after having 5 girls. Growing up during our childhood years with Boy as the younger baby brother wasn't easy for us because he was spoiled and got whatever he wanted. While growing up in Bylas, he attended the Bylas Head Start, Ft. Thomas Elementary through High School and Sherman Indian High School in California. Let me just say that he was very popular! Throughout his school years he made many friends from near and far, especially when he attended the Sherman Indian High School. He was involved with sports, basketball being his favorite, and he also loved to be a part of the Apache Club. His passion was being traditional, our Apache ways, growing up he had taken to learning the Apache songs with the help of Kennedy Johnson and his crew. From then on, he started singing and dancing as a Crowndancer. He enjoyed every moment of it. Boy had 2 girls, Sienna & Cindy, both from California. He was good to his friends and employers, although he liked to job hop, hopping from job to job and making even more friends. He had jobs here in Bylas, San Carlos, California and Oklahoma. His favorite hobbies were playing basketball, fishing, listening to his favorite rock music and just cruising around with his wife in the truck! We, as sisters, are gonna miss him dearly! Boy spent his life making many friends in Bylas, California and Oklahoma. He was very close to his family, his friends and especially his wife, Cynthia Mae Bond. Wheeler met Cynthia in Bylas on July 13, 2016, it was love at first sight. They married on August 30, 2016 and and adopted 3 kids, Alexander, Akeelah and Samuel and raised them as their own, making their own family. As a family, they traveled to many places. Wheeler really loved the beach, attending Powwow's and the state tournament for the Lady Apache's, fishing, camping, cookouts and shopping. As a family, we are going to miss his laugh, his jokes and his love but most of all, him being home with us. Life will never be the same without him. God takes the best and He took the best home. Cynthia says, "I love you baby, my love, my friend, my husband. I will always love you and you will always be in my heart forever. I will see you when I get up there. love your wife, Cynthia Bond."
