Wilbur Hutchins

Wilbur L. Hutchins, 89, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Safford, Arizona. Wilbur lived most of his life in the Elkhart, Iowa area with his wife and family; moving to live with his family in Duncan, Arizona 4 years ago. Born on 12.28.1923, he served in World War II where he earned two Bronze Stars while participating in campaigns in the Hurtgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge. He spoke of getting to play the guitar for Marlene Dietrich in a USO show and often played guitar with groups around the Elkhart area. Wilbur was a farmer and later worked for the DOT in Ames. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy and son Mike and is survived by son Larry. No services will be held.
