William Haskins

May 12, 1982 — March 22, 2014

William Nathan Haskins, 31, entered into eternal rest in Tucson, AZ, on March 22, 2014. Nathan, as he was affectionately known to his friends and family, was born on May 12, 1982 in Richmond, Virginia. Throughout his life, Nathan maintained a passionate interest in all Arizona sports teams, but especially his beloved Arizona Cardinals, for whom he was a proud season ticket holder, and costume-wearing super fan. In May of 2000, Nathan graduated from Pima High School. Soon thereafter, Nathan joined the Navy, where he graduated from Nuclear Power School with highest honors and proudly served on the Decommission Crew of the USS Parche. With his time in the military, Nathan ended up in South Carolina, where his first son was born, and then Washington, where he was blessed with two more sons. In Summer 2012, Nathan returned to his beloved Arizona for good. In August of that year, Nathan was reunited with an old friend who had a secret crush on him, and they were inseparable thereafter. On December 8, 2012 Nathan was wed to the love of his life, Valerie Kerby, in an intimate ceremony held in Tombstone. In April 2013, Nathan made his final move to Tucson, where his wife lives and works as a nurse. Nathan leaves behind his beloved wife, Valerie. Nathan also leaves behind three sons, David (12), Brodyn (6), and Phoenix (5), as well as two stepdaughters, Kadence (7), and Mikayla (4). Nathan is also survived by his parents, Doug and Diane Miller, and siblings, Jesse and Jenny Smith, as well as many other friends and family. A Wake was held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the residence of James & Candace Tippey located at 374 W. Calle De Buena Vista, Safford, Arizona 85546. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Caldwell Funeral Chapel with honors to be provided by Gila Valley Honor Guard.
