William Bill Garn Kierstead, Jr. Some Last Words: Todays my last day at work What the hell happened to me? William Garn Kierstead, Jr. passed away August 3, 2007 after courageously battling cancer. He was born March 15, 1948 in Ogden, Utah to William Kierstead, Sr. and Jewell Peavy Kierstead. He realized the fight to retain the awesome life he had with his wife, Linda Winrow, family and friends could not be won. Bill faced his illness with dignity and courage. He continued to work from home for Certiport until his last day. Certiports love for Bill is greatly appreciated by his family. Bill is survived by his wife and soul-mate, Linda Winrow Kierstead; his four children: Steven (Stacy), Sheryl, Sheldon and Stacie; stepchildren: Stephanie, Sean and Cassie; brother, Wilson (Joyce); sister, Sandra; adopted sister, Bonnie; 20 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; special long-time friends: Herb and Judy, not to mention Dot and Elmer Winrow whom Bill admired greatly since 1975 with their many children and extended family that he spent many fishing and camping trips with throughout the years. His last few years of vacation and weekends were spent on the Winrow family property at Monte Cristo, in Cache County, building the bunkhouse. In the late 80's Bill realized he wanted to challenge himself more in life by completing his education in computer programming. He trained himself while driving OTR trucks. He stayed on the cutting edge working for Williams Co. Bills integrity could not be compromised. He accomplished many projects throughout his life with a positive attitude, diligence and humor. He became invaluable to those who knew him. Bill is preceded in death by both of his parents. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Judith and all the hospice group that made this experience bearable. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2007, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Friday, August 10, 2007, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 11-11:45 am prior to services.
