William Liston

March 23, 1935 — October 9, 2007

William L. Liston 1935 ~ 2007 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, William Lunt Liston, 72, passed away October 9, 2007. He was born March 23, 1935 in Cedar City, Utah, son of Harrel B. and Leona Lunt Liston. He was educated in the Springville school system and attended Brigham Young University. He married Gloria Glazier; later divorced. He then married his eternal companion and the love of his life, Audrey Laura Matthews, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a master welder and fabricator at heart. He spent the last 22 years working for Lang Exploratory Drilling. He lived for and looked forward to spending time with all of his family sharing his lifelong passions of pine nut picking, Christmas tree cutting and camping. He unfailingly and unselfishly served by giving of himself and his many talents to all those he held dear. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous callings which included serving on the High Council in the South Cottonwood Stake and was a counselor in the Cottonwood 7th Ward bishopric; however, his favorite calling was to teach the Gospel Doctrine class. He loved the scriptures and could often be found discussing passages and doctrines of the gospel with his wife, children and grandchildren. He leaves behind the family he dearly loved: his wife, Audrey; seven children: Ruth Dianne (Rex) Morrey, Murray, UT; LaMinda (Fred) Madenwald, Tehachapi, CA; Carole Lizetta (Reed) Heslop, Layton, UT; Debra Lee (Bob) Wilde, Plain City, UT; Kelton Jay (Jeneanne) Liston, Brigham City, UT; Steven Brady (Cristi) Liston, Clearfield, UT; Clayton William (Emily) Liston, Roy, UT; brothers: Robert (Marie) Liston, Salt Lake City, UT; Ronald (Lola) Liston, Springville, UT; sister, Cherylon (Lynn) Parsons, Monroe, UT; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Bill will be forever missed and cherished. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 15, 2007, 12:00 noon at the Cottonwood Creek Ward, 1250 East 4800 South. Family will greet friends and loved ones Sunday, October 14, 2007, 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 11-11:45 am prior to services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Perpetual Education Fund or Humanitarian Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
