William Hugher Thrasher Pete William Hugher Thrasher Pete, 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 26, 2008. Pete was born January 12, 1918 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Virgil Hughie and Myrl Young Thrasher. Pete was reared on a large farm in Texas learning early how to meet the challenges of life amongst his 11 siblings. He learned the importance of thrifty living while raising his backyard victory gardens. While passing through Salt Lake City during his deployment with the Army, he met Anne Shirley Wilding whom he married on October 18, 1944; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. During his deployment in World War II, he served overseas in Germany and the Aleutian Islands. He was a long time Scout Master and hard worker with many talents. He enjoyed woodworking, cabinet building and built Shirley her dream home in West Valley . Employed by Kennecott as a carpenter until his retirement. Survived by his two daughters: Mrs. Carol (Allen) Todd of Taylorsville and Mrs. Charlene (Michael) Packard of South Jordan. Grandchildren; Jennie, Joel, Wren, Adrianne, Erin Anne and Jacob. Great Grandchildren; Justin, Jaden, Jarron, Chandler, and Carter. Sisters; Ophelia, Bonnie and Jinna Lou. Brothers; Dick and Homer. Preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley, one grandson, Garrett and on great-grandson, Garrett Jr.; Sisters, Eulene, Maude, Murdell and Brothers Rufus, Henry and James. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be from 11-11:45 at the Funeral Home. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
