Willie Harbuck

Our beloved Willie Ruth Meyer Harbuck, mother, grandmother, Aunt & friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her, left her earthly home at 12:58 Tuesday morning, April 12, 2017. Willie turned 97 on the 4th of March. She was born in Leesville, TX, the daughter of Rudolph & Naomi Ruth Meyer on March 4, 1920. She grew up on a farm/ranch in Texas. She married Daris Lee Harbuck and they were blessed with a daughter, Ruth Dorrine. Together they raised poultry, cattle and vegetables on the farms and ranches around Seguin, TX. In September of 1952, the Harbuck family moved to the Duncan valley where they resided while her husband was employed by Phelps Dodge in Morenci. After a short stay in Morenci, the family moved to Safford and then to Thatcher. Willie was a member of the Baptist church and then the Evangelical church in Safford and Tucson. Willie was a loving mother to her daughter, Dorrine. Her niece Sue Adamic stayed with the family for a while and became like a second daughter. She is survived by her daughter Dorrine, her husband Ronald and grandsons Adam, Timothy and Jonathan Clawson. Willie was preceded in death by her two brothers and five sisters, and a granddaughter, Ronda, in 1987. Services for Willie will begin with a viewing on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and funeral services on Friday, April 21, 2017 10:00 a.m. at the Caldwell Chapel. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery family plot.
