After many years enriching the lives of her loved ones, Willie peacefully passed away on January 22, 2025, in Safford, Arizona. She leaves behind a legacy of love that resonates through her surviving children: William, Wendy, Wayne, and Wynette. Her impact will continue to grow as her family expands, with 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and another on the way, blossoms of her enduring spirit springing forth with each generation.
Willie is remembered not only as a beloved mother but as a devoted sister to her eight sisters—Betty, Delores, Judy, Ophelia, Mattie, Mary, and her late siblings, Elizabeth, Myrtle May, James and Donald Ray. Each sister carries memories of laughter, support, and sisterhood that will forever echo in their hearts.
On the other side of life, Willie reunites with the profound love of her life, her spouse, Al Matlock, embraced once more in a bond that transcends time. She departs alongside her late son, Wesley Jones, and her brothers, James and Donald Ray, whose presence is missed dearly. The memory of her parents, Refugio and James Hillyard, envelops her as she finds peace in their embrace again.
