Ysidro Rodriguez

May 15, 1929 — August 24, 2024

Ysidro Rodriguez, a beloved father, husband, and cherished member the community, passed away peacefully on August 24 2024, at his residence in Pima, Arizona. He was born on May 15, 1929, in Duncan, Arizona.  Ysidro lived a life characterized by unwavering devotion to his family and a vivacious spirit that brought laughter to all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Duncan High School, Ysidro made his mark as a Surface Foreman in the Mining Industry, where his strength of character and dedication were as remarkable as the work he accomplished. Yet, it was his role as a jokester and the creator of whimsical nicknames for his family that truly defined him. His playful nature turned ordinary moments into laughter-filled gatherings, creating memories that will resonate through the hearts of his loved ones.

Ysidro was an avid outdoorsman whose passions included fishing, gardening, and hunting. These hobbies were not just pursuits; they were avenues through which he connected with nature and his family, often gathering his loved ones by the water’s edge or in the garden to share tales and enjoy each other's company. These outings were a testament to Ysidro's belief in the strength of family ties, as he relished in the joy of family get-togethers and events, which stand as some of his proudest accomplishments.

He leaves behind a loving legacy that includes his devoted spouse, Ophelia Rodriguez, and their children: Patsy, Daniel, Bobby, and Diane. Ysidro's heart swells with pride for his vast posterity, which includes ten adoring grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a part of his spirit, reflecting the laughter and love he imparted during his life.

While his journey in this world has come to an end, Ysidro is now reunited with those who have preceded him: his father, Pablo Rodriguez; his mother, Jesusita Castillo Rodriguez; his sisters Polly Garcia and Petra Mungia; his brothers Martin and Miguel Rodriguez; and his sister Toni Romero. Together, they rejoice in a reunion filled with love and laughter—a testament to a life well-lived.

A graveside service celebrating Ysidro's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Virden Catholic Cemetery in Virden, New Mexico. As family and friends gather to honor him, they will surely share smiles and stories that carry his legacy forward—stories filled with humor, warmth, and an enduring love that transcends the boundaries of life and death. Ysidro Rodriguez will be dearly missed but remains forever alive in the hearts of those who loved him.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel & Gila Valley Crematory located at 112 E. Main Street, Safford, Arizona.  928-428-1740
